I purchased 2 sets of these teacup planters for my daughters baby shower, which was themed "Alice in Wonderland". Half of them we painted by hand with different design's and because "Alice in Wonderland" is kind of psychedelic we did some with the nail polish in the water thing and they came out great. I love that the inside of the teacups is already glazed so we only had to worry about the outside. I fit 4 pansie plants in each cup. Very very happy with this product. I am actually thinking about buying another 6 to decorate and put on my front porch steps and back patio in the summer with plants in them.
ProsThat the inside of each cup is already glazed for planting flowers in them.
Consno cons, very very happy with the product!

Very Cute
Came all together..I'd read reviews about them being broken, so I ordered early with time to return them if this happened to me, but it didn't.. We are using them for a Tea Party First Birthday Party on June 10th. I am really excited and am looking forward to it.. They are a great size for the kids to paint..

Threw a very specific tea-party themed baby shower with the nursery colors grey and tangerine - THESE were perfect! I bought a set, painted them with acrylics in an adorable way, sealed them, and put flowers in some, tea cookies in others, wrapped them in cellophane and gave them out as game prizes! HOW EASY! So easy to personalize...can't wait for the next tea party!

QUESTION: is this large enough to use as a centerpiece with a bouquet of roses in it we're having an alice in wonderland quinceanera but they look too small to be the focal point - want to be sure before we buy them.

thank you - by None N 5/24/2015
ANSWER: Too small for focal centerpiece. by Barton W 5/26/2015
ANSWER: Not large enough for long stern roses. Works wonderful for centerpieces. Maybe a small mini rose plants, but as they got bigger you would need to transfer. We painted them for a tea party Baby Shower, the theme was Alice in Wonderland. They painted well, and we bought an extra set, because something like this always either breaks in shipping, or when your working with it. They turned out beautiful. They were worth the price. I would definitely buy them again to use for a craft or centerpiece. We used different colored plants, which were limited in April where we live, and gave them away as prizes. by Chris H 5/26/2015
REPLY: So theyre perfect for centerpieces to be stacked? by Armella G 11/11/2015

ANSWER: Hi,

I used them as centerpiece's for my daughter's Alice in wonderland themed party and they were great! I stacked about 3 teacups on top of each other and had flowers/feathers in the top cup. To answer your question, I think they are definitely big enough for flowers but just not tall enough. That's why I stacked them for height. by Maxie H 5/26/2015
STAFF ANSWER: Each cup measures 2 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" wide tea cup, so probably not large enough to hold stemmed roses. by Aaron H 5/26/2015
QUESTION: What kind of material do you use to decorate this planters? by Gabriela G 2/10/2015
STAFF ANSWER: Ceramic paints or permanent markers work, but I have heard of people using spray paints too. by Aaron H 2/10/2015
QUESTION: How can I treat the inside so that they can be painted n the outside and then at the end of the party plant a flower in it? by Marie S 1/7/2015
STAFF ANSWER: The inside is already treated and it looks like JimmieSue gave you a great answer already about the outside! by Aaron H 1/8/2015
ANSWER: The inside is already treated for you. Mine were a glossy finish inside and an unfinished outside. All we did was paint the outside and/or use stickers and scrap paper to decorate and then we covered them with Mod Podge to seal the decorations. The girls had so much fun!! by JimmieSue L 1/7/2015
QUESTION: What kind of paint is recommended\? by amhee h 10/26/2014
STAFF ANSWER: Ceramic paint will work best, but you can use virtually any type of paint or even permanent markers. by Aaron H 10/27/2014

After they were done, I did a clear coat spray to make them shiny. They turned out super cute! by JimmieSue L 10/26/2014
ANSWER: I believe we used ceramic paint. by Q B 10/26/2014
ANSWER: I used Both an acrylic ceramic paint that you can find at any craft store as well as rust-oleum 2x ultra cover spray paint in both flat and gloss. QUESTION: is there any way you can add alice in wonderland on cups? by chanell b 7/7/2014
ANSWER: I bought these for an Alice in Wonderland birthday party and used craft paint to make different designs on each one and they turned out amazing! I used polka dots, stripes, and crazy lines to make them all look different, fun, and crazy. by Teria H 7/8/2014
STAFF ANSWER: Sorry there is no personalization on this item, they are paint-able though so it can easily be added by you. by Aaron H 7/8/2014
QUESTION: If I have 4 year olds, and don't want to do paint, could they use washable markers or permanent markers instead? by Caroline D 2/3/2014
ANSWER: Washable markers would not be a good one to use because the cups have a matte finish on the outside. These would smudge and will be very hard for cleanup. Permanent markers are better to keep these long lasting works of art. Good luck. by M E 2/5/2014
ANSWER: Yes! Another nice trick with them would be to pre-stencil the cups. We also used glue and bedazzled them and that worked well. We used paint pens and assistants. by andrea f 2/5/2014
ANSWER: I don't see why they could not use the markers, but the cups are quite large and if they wanted to actually color the entire cup it would take a lot of marker ink and a lot of time. If they just drew flowers and designs, it would work okay. My daughter and friends painted the cups, the first activity of the party and at the end once they were dry, my husband sprayed a clear sealant over them for protection. These tea cups provide a great product for the price. You will be nicely surprised by the size. by E C 2/4/2014
ANSWER: I purchased these for my daughter's first birthday and painted but I used a permanent marker for a monogram. Washable markers would probably work too. by S T 2/4/2014
ANSWER: Yes, definitely. I bought these for my daughter's Alice in Wonderland themed party, and some of the kids used markers and they looked great. I believe that they used both washable and permanent markers but I am not sure about the washable markers; they definitely used permanent. I purchased about 30 of them. by K K 2/4/2014
ANSWER: You could basically use anything to decorate these cups. by Leticia G 2/4/2014
ANSWER: Washable wouldn't work great but permanent market would work by A S 2/3/2014
QUESTION: I was thinking of having the children use permanent sharpie pens to decorate these cute cups. I have heard that if you put them in the oven, the sharpie will not come off. Can someone tell me if this is true Thank you! by None N 10/20/2013
ANSWER: There are ceramic paints available at the local hobby shop Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc... Check with them to see what they may suggest -- It all depends on what the cups are made of. by D L 11/16/2013
ANSWER: I didn't put them in the oven but those markers worked really well on them. I also used acrylic paint. There is a huge. Selection of color and texture and it is safer than sharpies. by Jamie L 10/22/2013
QUESTION: dose the cups come with pain do we have to buy the paint? by None N 10/17/2013
STAFF ANSWER: The cups come with the saucer plate, the paint is sold separately. by Aaron H 10/18/2013
QUESTION: What paints would you recommend for this product? by None N 7/22/2013
ANSWER: Acrylic paint works well. by Nanette R 8/17/2013
ANSWER: I have used acrylic craft paints with these teacups for a group of children as a party craft. Although the craft paint is not washable from clothing, the paints keep their bright colors and dry relatively quickly within 15 minutes. Gloss paints will give a "glazed" appearance to the ceramic when dry. The painted teacups were beautiful, but I do recommend smocks!! by T H 7/29/2013
ANSWER: I used these for my 5 year olds bday party. We used finger paints and it worked great. Otherwise I would think any craft paint would be fine.

Order more than you need thought because 3 of the 12 I ordered were broken. I took pictures, but never got around to contacting the company about it. by E A 7/22/2013
ANSWER: I used acrylic paints then glazed over with goop. It worked great! by S T 7/22/2013
